Hotel Laugar is a summer hotel used as a boarding school over the winter time with 57 rooms, which all feature a private bathroom. Laugar is the gateway to some of the countrys most spectacular natural attractions, such as Lake Mývatn, Ásbyrgi Canyon and the waterfalls Góðafoss and Dettifoss. Hotel Laugar is in the peaceful rural surroundings of the Reykjadalur valley at the crossroads of North East Iceland. Only a short drive away from Akureyri (60 km), Husavík (40 km) and Lake Mývatn (30 km). Upon your arrival to the hotel you can relax in our cozy lounge. Before dinner you can still jump in the public pool, which is located just beside the hotel. In the evening, you can dine at our delicious restaurant offering you a Icelandic local and fresh produce and cosmopolitan flavors. Our hotel offers you a rich breakfast buffet every morning.
